tunnels and small plots while improving fruit set.

The FrostGuard — Autonomy and versatility

FrostGuard range

The ideal solution for greenhouses, tunnels and small plots.

Originally designed for fruit growers, winegrowers and market gardeners operating in confined spaces — greenhouses, plastic tunnels, small vineyards and pocket orchards — the FrostGuard quickly won over farms of every size thanks to its ease of use and fully automatic operation.

The latest generation, introduced in 2016, is more compact, lighter and quieter than its predecessors. Its fully enclosed body, with all walls and the roof insulated, eliminates the risk of condensation and reduces noise emissions. Simply set the trigger threshold — the machine does the rest.

Beyond frost protection, the FrostGuard improves fruit set by maintaining favourable thermal conditions during low-temperature flowering periods — a direct agronomic benefit for the quality and volume of the harvest.

Frostguard S20

Compact and mobile, the FrostGuard S20 diffuses warm air at ground level for effective protection of orchards, vineyards and low crops. Ideal for small areas, it ensures even coverage over close to one hectare thanks to its continuous 360° rotation.

  • ROTATION: 360° at ground level
  • DIMENSIONS: 120 x 77,5 x 120 cm
  • CONSUMPTION: 10.5 kg/hour
  • AUTONOMY: Up to 12 h depending on capacity and operating mode
  • AUTOMATIC START-UP: Temperature sensor + humidity sensor — control and start-up by smartphone
  • BODY: Enclosed and insulated
  • USE: Open field, under greenhouses and plastic tunnels

Frostguard V20

Designed for tall crops, the FrostGuard V20 directs its outlet upwards to envelop shrubs, berries and dense plantings in a continuous flow of warm air. Same power, same autonomy as the S20 — an architecture suited to a different crop morphology.

  • ROTATION: 360° elevated (outlet on top)
  • DIMENSIONS: 120 x 105 x 155 cm
  • CONSUMPTION: 10.5 kg/hour
  • AUTONOMY: Up to 12 h depending on capacity and operating mode
  • AUTOMATIC START-UP: Temperature sensor + humidity sensor — control and start-up by smartphone
  • BODY: Enclosed and insulated
  • USE: Open field, under greenhouses and plastic tunnels

FAQ – Frostguard

Frequently asked questions about the Frostguard

How does the FrostGuard work?

The FrostGuard combines a propane gas burner and a powerful fan in a compact, fully enclosed housing. Once the trigger threshold is set, the machine monitors the temperature continuously and starts automatically when the threshold is reached — with no human intervention. Its fan outlet rotates continuously through 360°, protecting an oval or round area whose size depends on the layout of the machines in the plot.

Like the FrostBuster, the FrostGuard relies on the phase-transition principle. The difference lies in how it is used: where the FrostBuster passes between the rows, the FrostGuard radiates continuously from a fixed point. This complementarity makes it possible to cover configurations inaccessible to a trailed machine. A further advantage: the investment can be spread over several years, starting with one or two machines and gradually completing the set-up.

Which crops can be protected?

  • Orchards, vineyards and market-garden crops (all types of fruit, flowers, vegetables)
  • Greenhouses and plastic tunnels — unrestricted operation under cover
  • Improving fruit set during low-temperature flowering periods
  • Season extension in plastic tunnels — bringing forward the first harvest or extending the end of season

What are the advantages of the FrostGuard?

  • Fully automatic operation
  • Improved fruit set, an agronomic benefit beyond protection
  • Modular, progressive investment — start with one machine and add more as needed
  • Compatible with greenhouses and tunnels — versatility unmatched in its category
  • Compact and mobile — no fixed installation, easy to move between plots
    • Immediate start-up and shut-down — optimal responsiveness as night-time temperatures change
  • Adaptable to any frost intensity — the set-up can be reinforced by adding more machines if needed
